কলকাতা পুলিশের 'পুজো' এ বার শুরু হয়ে যাচ্ছে চতুর্থীর দিন থেকেই৷ অন্য বার পঞ্চমী থেকে পুজোর নিরাপত্তা এবং ট্র্যাফিক ডিউটি শুরু করতেন কলকাতা পুলিশের কর্মীরা৷

পৃথক তেলেঙ্গানা গঠনে সায় দিল কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রিসভা। বৃহস্পতিবার ক্যাবিনেট বৈঠকের পর কেন্দ্রের এই সিদ্ধান্তের কথা ঘোষণা করেছেন স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী সুশীল কুমার শিন্ডে।

পশুখাদ্য কেলেঙ্কারি মামলায় লালু প্রসাদ যাদবের পাঁচ বছরের জেলের সাজা শোনাল রাঁচির সিবিআই আদালত। পাশাপাশি প্রাক্তন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জগন্নাথ মিশ্রকে চার বছরের কারাদণ্ডের সাজা শুনিয়েছে আদালত।

ধম্ম বিজয়ার দিনে কেন এই দশেরা বা দশহরা ?

কলিঙ্গ বিজয় সম্রাট অশোকের জীবনে ধম্মানুভুতির একটি মাইলস্টোন। শোকাহত রাজা ঘোষণা করলেন তিনিআর যুদ্ধ বিজয়  করবেন না করবেন ধম্ম-বিজয়। মানবতা ও সখ্যতার মাধ্যমে গুড়িয়ে দেবেন জাত-পাতের প্রাচীর ও দেশ কালের সীমানা। বিশ্বভ্রাতৃত্ব এবং বসুধৈবকুটুম্বকম এর  নিবিড় বন্ধনে সব মানুষেরমন জয় করবেন। সম্রাট অশোকের নেতৃত্বে এবং তার গুরু ভন্তে মোগলীপুত্ত তিস'র সভাপতিত্বে পাটলিপুত্রে সংঘটিত হল তৃতীয় বুদ্ধ ধম্ম সম্মেলন "ধম্ম বিজয়"।     

১৩ নং রক এডিক্ট –এ সম্রাট ঘোষণা করেন "'অসুপুত্ত পপৌত্ত মে নবম্ বিজয়ম বিজিতব্যম"।  আমার পুত্রএবং প্রপৌত্ররাও কোন নতুন রাজ্য যুদ্ধ বিজয় করবেনা । যদি বিজয় করতে হয় তা হবে ধম্ম-বিজয়।

অসুর দর্শনের এই মূল বাণীকে ধ্বংস করার জন্যই ভুদেবতারা এই দিনে দশেরা বা বিজয়া দশমী পালন করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়।

আজও এই মূলনিবাসী গণনায়কদের প্রতিকী পুতুল পুড়িয়ে ব্রহ্মণ্যবাদী বর্বরেরা বিজয় উল্লাস পালন করে।রাষ্ট্রীয় ব্যবস্থাপনায় ৮৫% অসুর ভারতবাসীর রক্ত শুষে এই পৈশাচীক উৎসব মূলনিবাসীদের আত্মমর্যাদা,আত্মপরিচয় ও স্বধম্মের উপর এক সামাজিক বলাৎকার এবং ঘৃণ্য চক্রান্ত। মানুষকে জ্বালানো, মানুষকে হত্যাকরার এই প্রতীকি উৎসব পালন করতে ওরা কুন্ঠিত হয় না কেননা মূলনিবাসী অসুরদের পরাজয়ের মধ্যেই দেবতাদের বিজয় উল্লাস প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়।  

এই দশহরাই বাংলায় "বিজয়া দশমী"   

বাংলায় এই দেবায়ন সুরু হয় হর্ষবর্ধনের মৃত্যুর পর।  কনৌজ তখন বৈদিক ধর্মের প্রধান ঘাঁটিতে পরিণত । কুমারিল ভট্টের নেতৃত্বে ব্রাহ্মণেরা পৈশাচিক হত্যালীলায় মেতে ওঠে। হাজার হাজার বৌদ্ধ শ্রমণের মাথা ধড় থেকে নামিয়ে দেওয়া হয়। জ্বালিয়ে দেওয়া হয় বৌদ্ধ শাস্ত্র রাশি। অনেক বৌদ্ধ শ্রমণ পুঁথিগুলি বাঁচানোর জন্য হিমালয়ের রাজ্যগুলিতে আশ্রয় নিতে বাদ্ধ হয়।

কনৌজ তখন বিজয়ী ব্রাহ্মণদের রাজধানী। কূমারিল ভট্ট তাঁদের প্রধান। কূমারিল ভট্ট মীমাংসা সূত্রের উপড় একটি কমেন্টরই লেখেন। এই সময় থেকে সারা ভারতবর্ষে কনৌজ থেকে ব্রাহ্মণ সরবরাহ করা হতো। অসুর বাংলায় এই সময় থেকেই ব্রাহ্মণের চালান শুরু হয়।  

বিদ্যাসাগর মহাশয়ের বহুবিবাহ এবং সম্বন্ধ নির্ণয় গ্রন্থে বাংলায় চালান হওয়া ৫জন ব্রাহ্মণ ও তাদের চাকরের তালিকা দেওয়া হয়েছে ঃ

বল্লাল সেন  অসুর বাংলাকে কৌলীন্য প্রথার  চোলাই গেলাতে শুরু করেন এবং  বাংলার বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে ভুদেবতা ও তাদের ভৃত্যদের ভূদান, গাঁই দান, গোত্র দান করে দেব সংস্কৃতি ছড়িয়ে দেবার ব্যবস্থা করেন। ভুদেবতারা ১৫শ শতকে বাংলায় এই দশেরা বা দশহরা কে নতুন কলেবরে প্রতিষ্ঠা করার তোড়জোড় শুরু করেন।  

বাংলায় প্রথম দুর্গা পূজা ঃ

ইংরাজী সংবাদপত্র- এর ২৮/১০/১৯৬১ সালের চিঠিপত্র কলমে শ্রী সুরথ চক্রবর্তী নামে এক ব্যক্তির একটি চিঠি প্রকাশিত হয়। তিনি দাবি করেন যে, রাজসাহী জেলার তাহেরপুরে রাজা কংস-নারায়ণ পঞ্চদশ শতাব্দীতে প্রথম দুর্গোৎসব করেন। সেই সময় কবি কৃত্তিবাস ওঝা নাকি রাজা কংসনারায়ণের সভাকবি ছিলেন। কবি কৃত্তিবাস রচিত বাংলা রামায়ণে এই দুর্গাপূজাকে "অকাল বোধন" হিসাবে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।

ডাঃ দীনেশচন্দ্র সেনের উল্লেখ করেনঃ

'কেহ কেহ অনুমান করেন, কৃত্তিবাস তাহেরপুরে রাজা বা জমিদার কংস-নারায়ণের সভায় উপস্থিত হইয়াছিলেন। কিন্তু, কংস-নারায়ণের শেষে যে বংশাবলী পাওয়া গিয়াছে, তাহাতে তাঁহাকে ষোড়শ শতাব্দীর লোক বলিয়া অনুমিত হয়। সুতরাং, 'রাজা কংস-নারায়ণ পঞ্চদশ শতাব্দীতে প্রথম দুর্গোৎসব করেন বলে জানা যায়', এই কথাটার মধ্যে দিনাঙ্কের একটা ভালো রকম গণ্ডগোল পাওয়া যাচ্ছে।

মুসলমান বিজয়ের/আক্রমণের পর হিন্দু রাজা গণেশের গৌড়ের সিংহাসনে আরোহন করেন। তিনি ১৩৯৮ খ্রী. পর্যন্ত রাজত্ব করেছিলেন। কবি কৃত্তিবাস জন্মেছিলেন ১৩০০ খ্রিষ্টাব্দের আশেপাশে। তিনি হয়ত এই সময়ে রাজা গণেশের সভায় এসে থাকবেন।

খোদ কোলকাতায় দেবী পূজা ঃ

শঙ্কর রায়ের একটি লেখা থেকেই তুলে  দিলাম –

"Imagine Calcutta in 1757, when it looked like a village with huge vacant spaces strewn haphazardly. A grandiloquent Durga puja was underway. The venue was a newly-built pucca house built upon a four-acre strip by the yet-to-be crowned Nabakrishna Deb, who named the palatial residence as Shobhabazar Rajbari.

There was a VVVIP at the centre of a podium, an Englishman, colonel Robert Clive of the English East India Company (EEIC), who had conquered Bengal by defeating Nawab Mirza Muhammad Siraj-ud-doula in the Battle of Plassey on June 23 that year.

Clive was the chief guest. Religious scruples were on the wayside and nautch girls, mostly from Muslim gharanas, entertained the Englishmen attending the dance-parties. For the new rulers, beef and ham were bought from Wilson's Hotel, let alone unlimited drinks that inebriated them.

Unbelievable as it may seem, Deb had the nod from orthodox Sanskrit pundits in bringing Clive, a firinghee, to grace a Hindu religious event in those days. Literary historian and poet, Abanti Kumar Sanyal, throws light on the situation in a small book, Baboo. Clive's Sanskrit tutor was Jagannath Tarkapanchanan, according to Sanyal, submitted to Clive for a handsome pension. As a result, there was no clamour from the erudite-but-conceited Sanskrit pundits of Bhatpara (now in the North 24 Parganas district).

Deb was conferred the title of 'Maharaja' by Warren Hastings in 1766 for his unflinching loyalty and services rendered to the company. This included the drafting of the infamous 1775 agreement between the EEIC and a group of 'aggrieved' royal officials, for dethroningSiraj-ud-Doula, the last king of greater Bengal. The agreement was signedat the palace of Jagat Seth, one of the signatories and the largest banker of Asia in those days (financially several times larger than the first ten bankers of Britain together). Other signatories included Siraj-ud-doula's commander-in-chief, Mir Jaffar, Roy Durlabh and Umichand. Also present was the Maharaja of Krishnagar, portrayed as a patron of art and culture, whom social historian Benoy Ghosh described as the initiator of 'dependent and colonial culture', hybridised with feudal grandeur.

The conspirators alleged that the young Nawab had instituted an unbearable misrule and was atrociously lascivious, making beautiful damsels insecure, and was a drunkard. This canard was later refuted by Luke Scrafton, the director of the East India Company between 1765 and 1768, "The name of Siraj-ud-daula stands higher in the scale of honour than does the name of Clive. He was the only one of the principal actors who did not attempt to deceive." He wrote that the young Siraj had taken an oath on the Quran at his father's deathbed that he would thenceforth not touch liquor – and that he had kept his promise.

The conspirators gradually became a symbol of hatred when anti-colonial sentiment grew during the national freedom struggle. It is said that the land Deb's house was built on belonged to Sobharam Basak, who was much wealthier, and that Deb pressurised Basak using his proximity to Clive. The new palace had a big dancing hall, an entrance where shehnai tunes used to welcome the guests, a large library of Sanskrit, Farsi, Arabic and English titles, and a mammoth dinner room, apart from scores of living rooms. Much of this is now on the pages of history textbooks.

Deb's ceremony of 1757 might have set a pattern for the Durga puja, which became a fashion andstatus symbol among the upcoming merchant class of Kolkata. Deb and his descendants, like Raja Radhakanta Deb, considered the aliens attending the family Durga Puja as an index of social prestige.

Over two centuries, the festival turned into a socio-religious celebration, more dispersive perhaps than Ganesha Chaturthi in Maharashtra or Dussera in northern India".

দাশাই পরব অসুর-আদিবাসীদের একটি শোকপালনের পরব। পাঁচদিন ধরে চলে এই শোক পালন। কারণবিদেশী দেবতারা তাদের প্রিয় রাজাকে নারীকে দিয়ে হত্যা করেছে অথবা বন্দী করে নিয়ে গেছে কোন গোপনডেরায়। অসুর যোদ্ধারাও তাই নারীর ছদ্মবেশ ধারন করে।  বেরিয়ে পড়ে তাঁদের রাজাকে খুঁজতে । শুরু করে ভুয়াং নাচ। হাতে ভুয়াং বাদ্য যন্ত্র। ভুয়াং আসলে তীর ধনুকের ছদ্ম যন্ত্র। যাতে সন্ধিক্ষনে যুদ্ধবিজয়ে সেগুলো কাজে লাগে। মুন্ডা,কোল আদিবাসীরা দাবী  করেন দুর্গা তাদের মেয়ে। দেবতারা তাকে দুর্গে ধরে নিয়ে যায়। বেশ্যা বানায়। হাঁড়ি সম্প্রদায়ের দাবী চণ্ডী তাঁদের মেয়ে। দেবতারা তাকে দিয়ে তাঁদেররাজাকে হত্যা করে। আজও বুক চাপড়ে ও হায়রে-ও হায়রে আওয়াজ করে ভুয়াং নাচের মাধ্যমে আদিবাসীরাতাঁদের রাজাকে খুঁজে বেড়ায়।

বেশ্যা দুর্গার হাতে বৃহৎ বঙ্গের রাজা বঙ্গাসুরের হত্যা কাহিনী এভাবেই লোকায়ত হয়ে আছে আদিবাসীদেরমধ্যে। আদিবাসী সত্তায় রাজত্ব হারানোর স্মৃতি এখনও সমান ভাবেই বর্তমান। বিদেশী দেবতারা এখনো মানবহত্যার মন্ত্রগুলি বিজয় উল্লাসে উচ্চারণ করে চলছে। প্রতি বছর কুমারী পূজার নাম করে চলছে দুর্গা বানানোর প্রতিযোগিতা। ধর্মীয় মোড়কে পরিবেশন করা হচ্ছে জিঘাংসার বিষ। কাত্যায়নী, চামুণ্ডা ও  ভৈরবীদের মোহে আচ্ছন্ন করে রাখা হচ্ছে অসুর বাঙালীকে। বাঙ্গালী তাই আত্মবিস্মৃত। ভূদেবতাদের উল্লাস, ঢাকের গগন ভেদী গর্জনে ঢাকা পড়ে গেছে তাদের পূর্বপুরুষের আর্তনাদ। ধুপের ধোঁয়া আর ফুল বেলপাতার গন্ধে ঝাপসা হয়ে গেছে তার দৃষ্টি। দেবায়ন ও দেব দর্শনের হাঁড়িকাঠে  অসুর বাঙালীর নির্বীর্য করণ ও নরমেধের এটাই এখন সব থেকে শক্তিশালী  নিধন যজ্ঞ।

বামপন্থীদের আসল সংকট আদর্শগতশুধু নেতৃত্ব বদল করে এই সমস্যা মিটবে কি?

'অর্থ এই নয় যে বামপন্থীদের নেতৃত্ব বদলের প্রশ্ন সম্পূর্ণ অপ্রাসঙ্গিক৷ কিন্ত্ত মূল প্রশ্ন হল, পুনরুজ্জীবনের জন্য, বিশেষত পশ্চিমবঙ্গে, সিপিআইএম এবং বামপন্থীদের আদর্শগত ও রাজনৈতিক কর্মসূচিতে কী পরিবর্তন আনা দরকার৷ নেতৃত্বের প্রশ্ন এই বৃহত্তর প্রশ্নেরই একটি অংশ৷' লিখছেনপ্রসেনজিত্‍ বসু

পশ্চিমবঙ্গে সি পি আই এম নেতৃত্বাধীন বামফ্রন্টের নির্বাচনী সমর্থন ক্রমেই কমছে৷ সাম্প্রতিক পঞ্চায়েত ও পুরসভা নির্বাচনের ফলাফল থেকেই এটা স্পষ্ট৷ ফলত বামফ্রন্টের একটা বড়ো অংশের মধ্যে নেতৃত্বে বদলের দাবিও ক্রমেই জোরালো হয়ে উঠেছে৷ লোকসভার প্রাক্তন অধ্যক্ষও সম্প্রতি এই দাবিতে গলা মিলিয়েছেন৷ জানিয়েছেন যে বামফ্রন্টের নেতৃত্বের উচিত খেলাধুলায় পরাজিত দলের প্রশিক্ষক ও অধিনায়কদের উদাহরণ অনুসরণ করে পদত্যাগ করা৷ এই রকম হতাশ প্রতিক্রিয়া খুব একটা অপ্রত্যাশিতও নয়৷ কারণ ক্রমশই স্পষ্ট হয়ে উঠছে যে বামফ্রন্ট, বিশেষ করে সিপিএম-এর এই পরাজয় নির্বাচনী ভাগ্যের কোনও স্বল্পমেয়াদি মন্দাবস্থা নয়৷ যেটা হচ্ছে তা হল পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মতো বামদুর্গে একদা প্রবল প্রতাপশালী পার্টি সংগঠনের ক্রমাগত ক্ষয়প্রাপ্তি৷

প্রশ্নটা সঠিক রাজনীতির

যদি সমস্যাটা শুধু ত্রুটিপূর্ণ বা অনুপ্রেরণাহীন নেতৃত্বের সমস্যা হয়, যেমন অনেকেই ইদানীং বলছেন, তাহলে সমাধানটিও অপেক্ষাকৃত সহজ হত৷ কিন্ত্ত প্রকৃত প্রস্তাবে সমস্যাটি জটিলতর৷ সোভিয়েত রাশিয়ার পতনের পরে যে কয়েকটি মুষ্টিমেয় কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি টিঁঁকে যায়, সিপিআইএম তাদের মধ্যে অন্যতম৷ পূর্বতন কমিউনিস্ট পার্টিদের মতো ধ্বংস না হয়ে কেরল বা ত্রিপুরার মতো রাজ্যে নির্বাচনে পরাজিত হওয়ার পরেও ক্ষমতায় প্রত্যাবর্তনের ক্ষমতাও দেখিয়েছে সিপিআইএম৷ কিন্তু ২০০৮-২০০৯ সালে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে সিপিআইএম-এর পরাজয় প্রবাদপ্রতিম ঐতিহাসিক এরিক হব্সবমকেও বিস্মিতও করেছিল৷ তিনি এই হারকে ১৯৯১ সালের পরে বিশ্ব-ইতিহাসের অন্যতম উল্লেখযোগ্য বাঁক হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করেন৷ ২০১০ সালে 'নিউ লেফট রিভিউ'-কে দেওয়া একটি সাক্ষাত্‍কারে হব্‌সবম জানান- 'সিপিআইএম-এর এই পতন সত্যি বলতে আমি আশা করিনি৷ কৃষকদের কাছ থেকে জমি নিয়ে নেওয়ার শিল্পনীতির খুব বাজে প্রভাব পড়েছে এবং স্পষ্টতই এটা একটা ভুল৷' পশ্চিমবঙ্গে সিপিআইএম-এর অবিরল এবং বিবেকবান বামপন্থী সমালোচকদের অন্যতম অশোক মিত্র ২০০৯ সালের লোকসভা নির্বাচনে পরাজয়ের পরেই বামফ্রন্ট সরকারের পদত্যাগের জন্য সওয়াল করেছিলেন৷ এই উপদেশের প্রতি কেউ কর্ণপাত না করলেও ২০১০ সাল থেকে অশোক মিত্র ক্রমাগত বামপন্থী নেতৃত্বকে স্বেচ্ছায় ক্ষমতা ত্যাগের জন্য আবেদন করে এসেছেন৷ বার বার বলেছেন যে নেতৃত্বের এই অনমনীয়তার জন্য সারা দেশেই বামপন্থা বিপদের মুখে পড়বে৷

এক কথায় বলতে হলে সিপিআইএম-এর বর্তমান সংকট আদতে আদর্শগত ও রাজনৈতিক সংকট৷ একের পর এক নির্বাচনী হার এবং নেতৃত্বের ক্ষীয়মাণ গ্রহণযোগ্যতার মধ্যে যে সাংগঠনিক সংকটের ছবি দেখা যাচ্ছে, তা এই আদর্শগত সংকটেরই এক প্রতিফলন৷ সমস্যাটিকে স্রেফ 'নেতৃত্বের ব্যর্থতা' হিসেবে তুলে ধরলে আসল কার্যকারণ সম্পর্কটাকেই গুলিয়ে ফেলা হবে৷ ভারতীয় জনতা পার্টির মতো ডানপন্থী সংগঠনের জন্য এই ধরনের রোগনির্ণয় কাজ করতে পারে৷ কিন্ত্ত বামদের সংকটকে যদি নরেন্দ্র মোদীর বামপন্থী সংস্করণ খুঁজে বের করার সঙ্গে সমান করে দেখা হয়, ব্যাপারটা নিতান্ত বোকামি হবে৷ ভারতে বা অন্যত্র, বামপন্থী নেতৃত্ব সর্বদাই উঠে এসেছে গণ-আন্দোলন এবং আদর্শগত ও রাজনৈতিক সংগ্রামের মধ্য দিয়ে৷ আদর্শগত ও রাজনৈতিক প্রশ্নকে সরিয়ে রাখলে, নেতৃত্বের জন্য লড়াই অবশ্যম্ভাবী ভাবে গোষ্ঠীদ্বন্দ্ব এবং তুচ্ছ পারস্পরিক খেয়োখেয়িতে পর্যবসিত হবে৷

লেনিনের ভূত

দুর্ভাগ্যজনক ভাবে সংকটের সময় স্বচ্ছ ও গণতান্ত্রিক ভাবে আদর্শগত বিতর্ক সমাধানের ক্ষেত্রে বিশ্বের প্রায় সব কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির রেকর্ডই অত্যন্ত খারাপ৷ গোর্বাচেভ-এর গ্লাসনস্ত এবং পেরেস্ত্রৈকার পরে কোনও পুনরুজ্জীবিত এবং গণতান্ত্রিক সমাজতন্ত্রের দেখা তো মেলেইনি, বরং ঘটনাক্রমে মঞ্চে উপস্থিত হন ইয়েলত্‍সিন এবং সোভিয়েত রাশিয়া টুকরো টুকরো হয়ে ভেঙে যায়৷ যদি কেউ ভাবেন যে দেং জিয়াও পিং-এর অর্থনৈতিক উদারীকরণ এবং রাজনৈতিক কর্তৃত্ববাদের সমন্বয়ের নীতি গোর্বাচেভিয় বিপর্যয়ের কার্যকরী প্রতিষেধক, তবে তাকানো দরকার চিনের সাম্প্রতিক পরিস্থিতির দিকে, যেখানে সমস্যা গভীরতর হয়ে উঠেছে৷

২০১১ সালের শেষের দিকে দক্ষিণ চিনের য়ুকান গ্রামে প্রায় নন্দীগ্রামের মতোই এক সংঘর্ষের ঘটনা ঘটে৷ যেখানে পার্টির স্থানীয় নেতারা রিয়েল এস্টেট ব্যবসায়ীদের সঙ্গে চক্রান্ত করে গ্রামবাসীদের থেকে গায়ের জোরে জমি কেড়ে নেয়, যার ফলে পুলিশি হেফাজতে গ্রামের এক প্রতিনিধির মৃত্যুও ঘটে৷ তবে এ কথাও বলতে হবে যে প্রশংসনীয় ভাবে সেই প্রভিন্স-এর পার্টির নেতৃত্ব শেষ পর্যন্ত এই ঘটনায় হস্তক্ষেপ করেন এবং স্থানীয় নেতৃত্বকে পুরোপুরি বহিষ্কার করে আন্দোলনরত গ্রামবাসীদের প্রতিনিধিদের স্থানীয় পার্টির নেতৃত্বে নিয়ে আসেন৷

কিন্ত্ত এখন চিনের সোশাল মিডিয়া ব্যবহারকারীদের একটা বড়ো অংশ পার্টির কেন্দ্রীয় নেতৃত্বের দিকেও আঙুল তুলছেন৷ বিশেষত পলিটব্যুরোর প্রাক্তন সদস্য বো জিলাই-এর কারাদণ্ডের পরে, যাঁর বিরুদ্ধে দুর্নীতি এবং সরকারি ক্ষমতা অপব্যবহারের অভিযোগ আনা হয়েছে৷ অনেকেই বলছেন যে বো জিলাই-এর বিরুদ্ধে আনা এই সব অভিযোগ আসলে চংকিং-এর পার্টির নেতা হিসেবে তিনি যে সংস্কার কর্মসূচি শুরু করেন, সেগুলোকে বন্ধ করে দেওয়ার একটা অজুহাত মাত্র৷ যে কর্মসূচির মধ্যে ছিল গরিবদের জন্য রাষ্ট্রের তরফে গৃহনির্মাণ বা মাও-এর জমানার রাজনৈতিক প্রতীকগুলো ফিরিয়ে আনার মতো কর্মসূচি৷ যে ভাবে চিনের নেতৃত্ব এই মতামতকে অবদমিত করার চেষ্টা করে চলেছেন, তার থেকেই বোঝা যায় তাঁরা আত্মবিশ্বাসের অভাবে ভুগছেন৷

এখনও পর্যন্ত সিপিআইএম-এর আদর্শগত ও রাজনৈতিক কর্মসূচি বদলের যে অক্ষমতা দেখা যাচ্ছে, তাকে এই প্রেক্ষিতে বোঝা দরকার৷ কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির কাঠামোর মধ্যেই এই সমস্যা মজ্জাগত৷ যার ফলে গণতান্ত্রিক পথে কোনও আদর্শগত বিতর্কের সমাধান সম্ভবপর হয়ে ওঠে না৷ সমাধান করতে হয় বিদ্রোহীদের উপর অত্যাচার করে, মাঝেসাঝে পৃথিবী থেকেই সরিয়ে দিয়ে, বা পার্টির ভাঙনের মধ্য দিয়ে৷ অথবা ১৯৯১ সালের পর থেকে বহু ক্ষেত্রেই যেমন ঘটছে- নিজেরাই উদ্যোগ নিয়ে পার্টিটাকে তুলে দিয়ে৷

কমিউনিস্ট পার্টিরা লেনিন-এর থেকে উত্তরাধিকার সূত্রে কেন্দ্রীভূত, শৃঙ্খলাবদ্ধ পার্টি সংগঠনের এই তত্ত্ব পেয়েছিল৷ যে সংগঠনে শুধু কেন্দ্রীয় নেতৃত্বের মধ্যেই বিতর্ক চলতে পারে, এবং তা-ও খুব সীমিত পরিসরের মধ্যে৷ বাকি সাধারণ পার্টিকর্মীরা শুধু আদেশ মেনে চলবে এবং নির্দেশ পালন করবে৷ বলশেভিক বিপ্লবের মতো সশস্ত্র বিদ্রোহের প্রেক্ষিতে এই তত্ত্ব খাটলেও খাটতে পারে৷ কিন্ত্ত বহুদলীয় গণতান্ত্রিক কাঠামোর মধ্যে, গণতান্ত্রিক রাজনীতির প্রেক্ষিতে এই তত্ত্ব সম্পূর্ণ অচল৷ মজার কথা হল, যদিও এখন প্রায় কোনও কমিউনিস্ট নেতাই আর লেনিনের বৈপ্লবিক প্রকল্পে আস্থা রাখেন না, কিন্ত্ত তাঁরাই আবার কেন্দ্রীয় গণতান্ত্রিকতার সংকীর্ণ সংজ্ঞাকে এখনও শালগ্রাম শিলার মতো আঁকড়ে পড়ে আছেন৷ হয়তো ক্ষমতায় থাকা মানুষদের স্বার্থ চরিতার্থ হয়েছে, কিন্ত্ত এর ফলে বামপন্থী পার্টিদের গণতান্ত্রিক ভাবে কাজ করার ক্ষমতাটাই নষ্ট হয়ে গিয়েছে৷ হারিয়ে গিয়েছে প্রাণোচ্ছলতা, উদ্যম এবং নতুন রক্তকে পার্টিতে নিয়ে আসার সামর্থ্য৷ ফলে বিশ্বের প্রায় প্রতি প্রান্তেই কমিউনিস্ট আন্দোলন এখন গতিহীন, ক্ষয়িষ্ণু৷

উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে যেখানেই সম্প্রতি সময়ে র‌্যাডিকাল বামপন্থী আন্দোলনের পুনরুজ্জীবন ঘটেছে, তার নেতৃত্বে কোনও সাবেকি কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি ছিল না৷ ছিল নতুন বামপন্থী শক্তিরা- লাতিন আমেরিকায় শ্যাভেজ, মোরালেস, কোরিয়াদের মতো নেতারা বা গ্রিসে 'সিরিজা'-র (SYRIZA) মতো বামপন্থী সংগঠন৷ এই শক্তিগুলোর মধ্যে প্রধান মিল হল, নব্যউদারবাদী পুঁজিবাদের দৃঢ় অথচ সৃজনশীল বিরুদ্ধতা, এবং গণতন্ত্রের এক ধরনের র‌্যাডিকাল ধারণার প্রতি দায়বদ্ধতা, যে গণতন্ত্র সময়সাময়িক উদারপন্থী বুর্জোয়া গণতন্ত্রের থেকে চরিত্রগতভাবে আলাদা৷

কাজেই এই মুহূর্তে সিপিআইএম-এর জন্য সব থেকে জরুরি ভারতীয় বামপন্থা যে আদর্শগত প্রশ্নগুলোর সম্মুখীন হয়েছে, সেগুলোর সমাধানের চেষ্টা৷ অন্তত পাঁচটি

প্রথম, নব্যউদারপন্থী বিশ্বায়ন এবং ভারতে অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের সাম্প্রতিক পথ সম্পর্কে বামপন্থীদের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি, যার মধ্যে আছে শিল্পায়নের প্রশ্ন, কৃষকের মালিকানা-ভিত্তিক কৃষিব্যবস্থার ভবিষ্যত্‍, জমি অধিগ্রহণ, এবং অসংগঠিত ও ঠিকা শ্রমিকদের সমস্যা৷

দ্বিতীয়, সামাজিক ন্যায়ের প্রশ্ন এবং জাত, লিঙ্গ, ধর্মীয় ও জাতিগত সংখ্যালঘুদের সমস্যা সম্পর্কে বামপন্থীদের অবস্থান, যার মধ্যে জড়িয়ে আছে বাম নেতৃত্বে সামাজিক ভাবে নিপীড়িত মানুষদের যথাযথ প্রতিনিধিত্বের প্রশ্নও৷

তৃতীয়ত, গণতন্ত্রের প্রশ্ন৷ শুধু ভারতীয় রাষ্ট্র ও সমাজের গণতন্ত্রীকরণের নিরিখেই নয়৷ পার্টির অভ্যন্তরীণ কার্যনীতি এবং পার্টি ও সাধারণ মানুষের মধ্যে সম্পর্কের নিরিখেও৷

চতুর্থ, অন্যান্য অ-বাম রাজনৈতিক শক্তি, বিশেষত কংগ্রেস ও অন্যান্য আঞ্চলিক দলের সঙ্গে জোটের প্রশ্নে বামপন্থীদের অবস্থান |

পঞ্চম, মার্কিন সাম্রাজ্যবাদ এবং ভবিষ্যত্‍ আন্তর্জাতিক রাজনীতির কাঠামোর প্রেক্ষিতে আন্তর্জাতিক পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে বামপন্থীদের অবস্থান |

যদিও সাম্প্রতিক অতীতে বিভিন্ন সম্মেলন ও পার্টি কংগ্রেস-এ সিপিআইএম-এর তরফ থেকে বিভিন্ন নথি ও প্রস্তাব গৃহীত হয়েছে, কিন্ত্ত অন্তত গত এক দশক ধরে এটা স্পষ্ট যে একেজি ভবন থেকে যা বলা হয়ে থাকে এবং পশ্চিমবঙ্গে যা বাস্তবে রূপায়িত হয়, তার মধ্যে আকাশপাতাল তফাত্‍৷ ২০০৪ থেকে ২০০৮ সালের মধ্যে যখন বামফ্রন্ট ইউ পি এ সরকারকে সমর্থন জানাচ্ছিল, তখনই বোঝা গিয়েছিল কেন্দ্রে সিপিআইএম যে নীতির বিরোধিতা করছে, পশ্চিমবঙ্গে তাদের নিজেদের সরকার ঠিক সেই নীতিগুলিই রূপায়িত করছে৷ আজ সিপিআইএম-কে যে সংকটের মোকাবিলা করতে হচ্ছে, তা তত্ত্ব ও চর্চার মধ্যে এই ফারাকের প্রত্যক্ষ প্রভাব৷

এই ফারাকের জাজ্বল্যমান দৃষ্টান্ত হল কেন্দ্রে ধুঁকতে থাকা কংগ্রেস সরকারের প্রতি সিপিআইএম-এর মনোভাব, যা ইদানীং প্রাসঙ্গিকও বটে৷ ২০১২ সালের এপ্রিল মাসের ২০তম পার্টি কংগ্রেসে নব্যউদারপন্থী কংগ্রেস ও সাম্প্রদায়িক ভারতীয় জনতা পার্টি- উভয়ের বিরুদ্ধে রাজনৈতিক লড়াইয়ের প্রস্তাব গৃহীত হয়৷ অথচ তার কয়েক মাসের মধ্যেই উল্টোপুরাণ- পশ্চিমবঙ্গে কংগ্রেস ও তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের মধ্যে বিভাজন তৈরি করার জন্য রাষ্ট্রপতি নির্বাচনে কংগ্রেস প্রার্থী প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায়কে সমর্থনের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় সিপিআইএম৷ আর আজ সিপিআইএম এমন এক অবস্থায় পৌঁছেছে যে আসন্ন লোকসভা নির্বাচনে এই প্রশ্নে কী অবস্থান নেওয়া হবে, তা নিয়ে সিপিআইএম নেতৃত্ব ঐক্যবদ্ধ ভাবে কিছু বলতেই পারছেন না, যদিও নির্বাচনের প্রচার এক রকম শুরুই হয়ে গিয়েছে৷ নয়া দিল্লির এক লাইন তো কলকাতায় আবার আলাদা৷ যে পার্টি নিজেদের রাজনৈতিক গতিমুখ নিয়েই এতটা অনিশ্চিত, সেই কিংকর্তব্যবিমূঢ় রাজনৈতিক দলকে সাধারণ মানুষ কেনই বা ভোট দেবেন?

এই আলোচনার অর্থ এই নয় যে বামপন্থীদের নেতৃত্ব বদলের প্রশ্ন সম্পূর্ণ অপ্রাসঙ্গিক৷ কিন্ত্ত মূল প্রশ্ন হল, পুনরুজ্জীবনের জন্য, বিশেষত পশ্চিমবঙ্গে, সিপিআইএম এবং বামপন্থীদের আদর্শগত ও রাজনৈতিক কর্মসূচিতে কী পরিবর্তন আনা দরকার৷ নেতৃত্বের প্রশ্ন এই বৃহত্তর প্রশ্নেরই একটি অংশ৷ এবং সিপিআইএম-এর ভিতরে এই পরিবর্তন ঘটার জন্য পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মানুষ কিন্ত্ত অনন্ত কাল অপেক্ষা করে থাকবেন না৷ যদি সিপিআইএম মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছতে ব্যর্থ হয়, তবে বামপন্থীদের মধ্য থেকেই সিপিআইএম-এর বিকল্প উঠে আসবে৷
