Keeping in mind the most recent tug of war relating high profile DDCA row,Mamata Banerjee created history to make the arch rivals FM Arun Jetly and the CM Arvind Kejriwal who instituted a n investigation commission demanding resignation for the Prime minister, share the stage.

We have to wait for the outcome of rosy dreams projected in the global summit of vishwa Banga Banijya Sammelan and it might tok ten years more as the projected  time line for the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya adjusted and readjusted before every election.

At least four top ministers from Modi Government praised the Paribartan andDidi`s populist governance in such a generous way in presence of srvind Kejriwal, the Anti Modi Jihad lost some of its sheds,no doubt.

Strong economic growth in states is "imperative" for pushing up the country's GDP and giving it a "cutting edge" to fight poverty and generate jobs, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Friday.

He also said that additional growth has to come from eastern states like West Bengal where industrialisation had suffered because of the policies followed in the last 35 years. "In a global situation which is so adverse, India's GDP growth is 7.5%. Is it difficult to add 1% more which will give us that cutting edge to fight poverty and generate jobs?" Jaitley said at the second edition of Bengal Global Business Meet in kolkata.

"Given the structure of India's federal polity, it is imperative that the states grow as well. Despite political differences, strong states mean a stronger India. West Bengal contributes nearly 6 to 7% of national GDP. Given the fact that growth of the eastern states was lower than those of the western states, the additional growth will have to come from the former," he said.

Referring to West Bengal, he said industrialisation in the state had suffered due to policies pursued in the last three and half decades.

"Summits of these kinds held every year clearly demonstrate the intention that the need of the hour is to generate growth, increase revenue and fight poverty for which investments are required. It is in this context that West Bengal that has lost its glory of the past could be restored and I assure you that the Centre will give all its support to the state's endeavour to attract investments," Jaitley said.

If Bengal followed such a policy, it would be able to generate jobs and revenue needed to fight poverty, else would have to fall back on shallow political slogans, he said.

Jaitley said investors anxiously look forward to an environment to see their investments yield results. "If you are not in a position to attract that, then investments will dry up," he cautioned. Nationally, the services sector has improved, while greenshoots are visible in manufacturing, he said.

"Our priority will be to enhance public expenditure in infrastructure, social infrastructure, enhance expenditure on the rural sector," he added.

Jaitley said the Centre had been following a policy to economically empower the states for which it had readily agreed to the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission. "West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra is regularly in touch with us and all issues are cleared expeditiously despite political differences," he said.

Jaitley, who attended the summit second time in a row, shared the dais with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The summit was also attended, among others, by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, UK Employment Minister Priti Patel, Bhutan Tshering Togbay, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and industrialists Mukesh Ambani, Mohan Das Pai, Subhas Chandra Sajjan Jindal and others.

DDCA row: However,Kejriwal hits back at Centre, says probe panel formed as per Constitution

Kejriwal said the inquiry commission was set up as per Constitutional provisions and Centre's opinion is not binding on Delhi government.

"The elected government of national capital territory of Delhi is neither the Central Government nor the State government within the meaning of Sections 2 and 3 of the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1952. Therefore, it has no jurisdiction or power to set up a commission of inquiry under the said act."

DNA reports:In a new confrontation between the centre and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Union Home Ministry has said that the commission of inquiry constituted by the Delhi government to look into the affairs of the Delhi and District Cricket Board (DDCA) as illegal.

The Delhi government had on December 23, issued a notification for setting up of a Commission of Inquiry, headed by former Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium, to probe alleged corruption in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) between 1992 and 2015, and asked it to submit its report within three months.

The government's notification, as tweeted by ANI, reads:"The elected government of national capital territory of Delhi is neither the Central Government nor the State government within the meaning of Sections 2 and 3 of the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1952. Therefore, it has no jurisdiction or power to set up a commission of inquiry under the said act."

It also says that the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has accordingly held that the notification no 01/66/2015/DOV/15274 dated 22/12/2015 issued by the Directorate of Vigilance, Government of NCT of Delhi is unconstitutional, illegal and therefore has no legal effect."

"The Council of Ministers may please be apprised accordingly and all concerned be advised to act confirmity with the above decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India," it said.

Reacting to the notification, AAP leader Ashutosh said, "MHA's order is not tenable as commission of enquiry matter is in the court. Court has not given a stay earlier, despite centre's prayer."

He further added,"Modi govt is trying to shield Jaitley and DDCA corruption despite so much evidence. It's open and shut case. Mr PM what happened to your commitment to fight corruption?"

On Tuesday, pursuing his complaint, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley appeared in a Delhi court and said Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders have made "false and defamatory" statements and rejected the charge that he had siphoned out money from Delhi's cricket body DDCA for his own benefit.

Recording his statement before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Sanjay Khanagwal in a 70-minute deposition, Jaitley, an eminent lawyer himself, dismissed all the allegations and said he had not received any money from anybody during his tenure as President of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

Jaitley had on December 21 filed the criminal defamation case against Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders for allegedly defaming him and sought their prosecution for offences that entail a punishment of up to two years in jail.

Aware of the local sentiments and the fact that a cement plant would only use up about 134 acre of the 4,300 acre of land he now possessed, Jindal mentioned a mega 1,300-MW power project, and subsequently a paint manufacturing plant as his additional plans for Salboni. As for Mamata, the investment event clearly portrays how she had moved ahead from her Singur days as she waited 40 minutes at Salboni after Jindals had a problem landing in Kalaikunda airbase and had to make a detour via Kolkata airport to reach the venue on Wednesday. The long wait apart, she warmly greeted the entire Jindal family – wife Sangeeta Jindal and son Parth Jindal, who had accompanied Sajjan Jindal, for the event. The second edition of summit began in Kolkata on Friday, and the state government is hoping to draw huge investment commitments from both domestic and international investors.

Several NDA ministers, including Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari, Suresh Prabhu and Piyush Goyal, are also expected to attend.
